Tamir defend Kibbutz Nir Oz along with the emergency response team, while his wife Hadas stayed home alone with their children. Hadas and the children were saved, but Tamir and his grandmother were kidnapped. Tamir’s grandmother, Yaffa Eder, was returned from captivity in the first phase of the hostage deal on November 24, 2023.
On January 5th, his family was informed of his murder while in captivity.
Tamir worked at the Ramon Foundation as a social leader and in the implementation of educational programs at Yuvlei HaBesor School.
