He confronted a terrorist who tried to break into his safe room but eventually kidnapped. He was held in captivity without essential medications. On June 3, 2024, his family was informed of his death in captivity. His body was recovered from Gaza on August 20, 2024.<br \/>Chaim was a man of peace and bridge-building, he assisted in transporting Gazan patients to hospitals in Israel, along with his wife, Osnat. His son, Daniel, was murdered in the attack. He was sculptor and curator, loved culture and art, taught film at Sapir College.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column
