"נולדתי למשפחה בת חמישה ילדים. הייתה לי ילדות מאושרת, והוריי רחל ויוסף היו הורים מסורים. כשהייתי בת ארבע כבשו הגרמנים את תוניס, היה מחסור במוצרי צריכה, ובלילות היה אסור להדליק אור. הגרמנים נכנסו אלינו הביתה ולקחו דברי ערך וגם שמיכות וציוד לחורף. חששנו שיגייסו את הגברים הצעירים לעבודות כפייה, ולכן אחי הבכור נמלט מאימת הנאצים ועלה לארץ ישראל.

אימא שלי דאגה שלא נסבול מרעב, היא נסעה לכפרים כדי לקנות לנו אוכל. כשהאנגלים הגיעו ושחררו אותנו מהכיבוש הגרמני, אני זוכרת את השמחה והריקודים ברחובות. עליתי עם הוריי לארץ בשנת 1952, אך אחיותיי הגדולות היגרו לצרפת. זכיתי להקים משפחה מפוארת בירושלים, יש לי 5 ילדים והרבה נכדים ונינים מתוקים."

“I was born to a family with 5 children. I had a happy childhood and my parents Rachel and Yosef were devoted to us. When I was four, the Germans conquered Tunis. There was a shortage of everything, and at night it was forbidden to have any light. The Germans came into our house and took things of value, as well as blankets and equipment for winter. We were afraid they would take the young men for forced labor, so my older brother fled the Nazis and came to the Land of Israel.

My mother was worried that we would starve. She went to villages to buy food. When the British arrived and freed us from the German occupation, I remember the joy and dancing in the streets. I arrived with my parents in Israel in 1952, but my big sisters moved to France. I had the privilege of starting a wonderful family in Jerusalem. I have 5 children, and lots of cute grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”
