Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, of blessed memory
Hersh hid in a shelter after the attack on the party in Re’im. He was injured and taken to Gaza. In a video sent to his family, he was seen with a severed arm, being loaded onto a Hamas truck. On September 1st, 2024, it was reported that he was murdered in captivity.
Hersh immigrated to Israel with his family when he was 7 years old. He has two younger sisters. He had saved money for the big trip he planned to take in December. On April 24, 2024, Hamas released a video showing signs of life from him. In the video, he addresses his family, saying: “Mom, Dad, Libby, and Orly, I love you very much and miss you a lot. I think about you every day that I am here. I know you are doing everything you can to bring me back home as soon as possible”.
